The relay event is held in the hopes that we can provide the leaders with a little extra competition while at the same time bring new runners into the sport of ultra running by offering shorter distances to run.
The setup for the relay is as follows: Runners on a 4 person team will only be allowed to make transitions at the 31.4, 62.9, and 81.5 mile aid stations. In the case of injury a team member will be allowed to transition at a different aid station, but the injured team member will not be allowed to run at a later time in the race.
A two or three person team can compete as a four person team.
