The 38 Mile fun run will consist of one out and back leg. Starting at the Nordic loop aid station the 38 mile participants will follow the 100 mile runners as they go out on their loop to Rice Lake. The round trip distance will actually be 37.3 miles. We wanted to start this fun run so people can gain experience running at night, do a longer training run and keep the trail more active at night for the runners and aid stations. The course time limit has been set to correspond to a typical time limit for the 100 mile distance. Participants will start any time after 8pm and only have to finish with the last 100 mile runner at noon on Sunday.
Link to Aid Stations and Cutoffs It will be our official policy that any runner not making a cut-off time will be pulled from the course for purposes of safety and course logistics. We appreciate your help and understanding with this policy. Since this is considered a night fun run and meant primarily for training purposes we are want to keep the cost down to a minimum. All participants will have full access to the aid stations. Just like a 100 mile runner, please let the aid stations know when you come into them and also let them know if you will not be able to finish the 38 miles and need to drop out. You will be given a bib number to wear. We will track all runners on the course. Though there are no age group or kettle finishing awards for fun run we are planning to have something to commemorate your accomplishment. It may be as simple as a pin or magnet, but we will have something. If you would like to get a shirt or vest please order one separately for an additional $25. |
